Join Sarah Owens and guest baker Susannah Gebhart of Old World Levain in Asheville for this hands-on 5 1/2 hour workshop designed to explore seasonal, natural ingredients for decorative bread and pastry techniques. You will create your own sourdough starter to take home, bake and decorate a whole grain cake using naturally dyed and edible decorative ‘flowers’, make botanical sprinkles, and explore flavors from the wild. We will score and bake a loaf of bread, and learn basic techniques in puff pastry for the home kitchen. A light lunch will be served.
